The guest lecture “Pursuing Peace and Life in the Korean DMZ” features Eleana Kim, professor of anthropology, University of California Irvine. Professor Kim explores the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean peninsula as a haven for biodiversity and a site of militarized ecologies. Her
publications include “The Flight of Cranes: Militarized Nature at the North Korea-South Korea Border,” Asian Environments (2014), and Adopted Territory: Transnational Korean Adoptees and the Politics of Belonging (2010, Duke University Press).
