Oberlin Korean Student Association Biennial Conference: “Changes in Perception and Understanding of Korea”

Professors Shelley Lee, comparative American studies; Young Ji Lee, East Asian studies and art history; and Jinwon Kim, sociology, will be sharing their own experiences and knowledges about some major political and cultural changes that Korea has gone through in the last few decades.

Some examples include the Korean War, huge economic growth that we often refer to as “the miracle of Han River,” Hallyu Wave,and the recent political turmoil. They will talk about how those events have affected Korean people’s lives and the way people perceive and understand Korea.
