Information Session on the Glass-Steagall Act

May 13, 2017 @ 3:00 pm

Stuart Rosenblatt will be speaking about the movement to reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act, which was in place from 1933 until the 1990s. It served to rein in the big banks and prevent them from engaging in risky behaviors with depositors money.

After its repeal, banks resumed their risky behaviors, which led to the crash in 2007. The Dodd-Frank Act (which is a watered-down version of Glass-Steagall) was put into place but now the Republicans are trying to repeal that, too.

Come hear what’s going on and how you can help.
