Indivisible CLE’s Constituents Series presents: State Ballot Initiatives. In collaboration with CCPC, this forum focuses on two ballot initiatives taking place in 2017 & 2018. Speakers representing the Fair Drug Price Act Initiative and the Fair Congressional Districts Initiative will speak on these issues.

In the 2017 election, Ohio voters will be voting on the Fair Drug Price Relief Act. The ballot initiative is intended to only allow the state to buy prescription drugs at the lowest price that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs pays for those drugs.

Currently receiving signatures to appear on the 2018 ballot is the “Bipartisan Congressional Redistricting Reform Amendment”. This initiative would authorize a bipartisan redistricting commission to draw state general assembly districts and U.S. congressional districts.

Currently, the state legislature is responsible for drawing congressional districts WITHOUT bipartisan approval.
